Types of Residence Permits in Türkiye
Türkiye grants six categories of residence permit (İkamet). Below is each type, who it is for, and its duration — we handle the whole file for you.
Short-Term Residence
Kısa Dönem İkamet
The most common — for property owners, tourism, business & investment, medical treatment, research, and language courses.
Family Residence

How we get your permit

Before you sign a lease
Since 2022 some neighbourhoods have been closed to new foreign address registrations, and an address there means refusal even with a valid lease. Send us the address before signing and we check the neighbourhood before you commit.
Residency FAQ
When do I renew my Turkish permit?
Renewal opens 60 days before expiry and must be filed before the permit expires in all cases (Article 24, Law 6458). Start early within that window.
How long does a decision take?
The law sets a 90-day maximum (Article 21), and many applications are decided sooner. While pending, you hold a document showing your application is in process.
What property value qualifies for a residence permit?
For property acquired since 16 October 2023: at least US$200,000 based on the title-deed sale value at the purchase-date exchange rate.
Do you handle permits for all nationalities?
Yes, Arab and other nationalities; we prepare each file to its nationality's requirements and the family's situation.
Can I work on a tourism permit?
No. Work needs a separate work permit, and using a permit for another purpose is a ground for cancellation (Article 33).
What are the family permit requirements?
Sponsor income of at least the minimum wage and a third per member, housing and insurance for all, a clean record, one year on a permit (not for spouses of Turks) and address registration (Article 35).
